Chapter Eleven: The Bonding

Oh shit. There were a hundred, no, a thousand questions that Holly would rather answer. The likelihood that Taryn was joking was high, but not guaranteed. Like any fandom, people had favorites and they will defend those favorites to the death. Star Trek is one of the original fandoms, assuming one starts with Kirk and ever-present Spock.

She bit her lip, because Picard seemed to be the “correct” answer. Jean Luc Picard was many fans’ favorite, due to his ability to add gravitas to a series that had previously felt borderline corny. He was also the Captain in the episode Taryn had referenced. And Holly loved Captain Picard, she did, almost as much as she loved Doctor Beverly Crusher, the MILFiest character to ever be in a television show (in her humble opinion).

But...but maybe Janeway was the favorite. After all, she was the first female Captain and managed to have a stud-quality to her. It was her confidence, her swagger. Captain Janeway had a hard go of it, because Voyager was so different from previous generations. Instead of voyaging out to meet new races and explore, she and her crew had been racing to get back, and it caused a lot of tension and strain. Certainly a classic part of the franchise, if one could deal with the heightened drama.

In the end, though, Holly opted for honesty. “Sisko, hands down.” She felt confident in the answer because she’d been able to binge Deep Space Nine right after The Next Generation and it had filled in all the areas she’d felt were lacking in TNG. Like character development and deeper, more intense story arcs.

“Are you crazy?” Taryn almost screeched. She probably would have, but her throat must have been dry, because it came out in a rasp. She then proceeded to choke while Holly watched in amusement.

Amusement and some residual desire. There was no denying it. She and Taryn had a moment. Holly had swallowed and did her best to remain aloof when helping Taryn dress, but aloof hadn’t happened. She knew her lust had been written on her face. How in the world caring for a frail and sick person had turned into one of the sexiest encounters of her life, she’d never know, but she was still humming from the intensity of it.

Taryn managed to get her coughing under control, though she still stared daggers through tear-moist eyes. Holly smiled sweetly. Saccharine sweet, just to get a reaction. Taryn played into it, eyes narrowing and cheeks puffing as she hemmed and hawed. “Sisko was solid, you can’t deny.”

“I don’t deny it, I just deny that he could be the best. Everyone knows it’s Picard.”

“Maybe I’m hip and like the underdog. Sisko got shit done.”

“There’s no underdog! Picard is the classiest, the most elegant, the most intelligent—” Taryn spluttered and threw her hands in the air. “He’s the best for a reason!”

Holly was enjoying Taryn’s outrage a little too much. Probably because the heated movements she was making were jiggling her breasts in just the right way.
